What part of Perth? We hope to fly 3rd October going to one of the North suburbs maybe near Beechboro.

We are hoping to be out in September too. We will be flying from Birmingham to Brisbane. We are going to take a look around the Bayside area and also towards the Gold Coast. Good luck.. Tracey

Hi again JJJHM!

Don't worry - I'll get the ball rolling when we arrive. I'll have to start a list of names of people that have expressed an interest already. We arrive on 9th, but you'll have to give me at least a week to get myself sorted (we've got no furniture or beds when we first arrive and we've only just shipped our stuff) and I need to get the PC / Internet up and running which could be a challenge - so I reckon I'll start planning late September / early October. I would suggest we do something fairly central Brisbane. Now, I know that might be a bit biased from my point of view (tee hee!) but I'm sure it would a lot easier in terms of travel links for everybody else. Anyway - to save hijacking this thread I'll start a new one mid Sept. Anyone else interested between now and then, please PM me and I'll start a list and update you all in late September.

Hi Netta,

That sounds good, I don't think we have a lot in our diary for the middle of October yet... ;)

We are staying at an apartment close to CBD until the 23 October so central sounds good, would be great if you could find us a baby sitter too... (only joking!)

We won't be on line until late September either, hopefully we are borrowing a lap top off a friend when we arrive as our container doesn't arrive until 7th October, so won't get our own PC back until we move into something more permanent, and our container has passed customs.

Good luck with the new house, pool project and job hunting..

Hi BettyBoop

I always phone the airline direct and ALSO get the request raised by the travel company (i.e airline network). Quite often when I phone up the airline directly, they will say ' oh there's already a request put in for you', which makes me feel a lot more comfortable that the travel company have actually made the request.

The reason I do this is because on at least two occasions, one with airline direct and once with Austravel, I've turned up at the airport and they know nothing about my request.

Also remember if you have an aircraft change then you need to make sure they've put in your special request for BOTH legs of your journey. That's another problem I've had where they've only done it for the first leg!

I'm sure if you phone airline-network first, then a few days later phone the airline to confirm the request, you'll be fine.

Best wishes for an enjoyable flight a wonderful new life down under. (We fly to Brisbane on the 7th Sept.)
