Re: anyone applying july 2007
Happy New Year Everyone! Not been on this site for about 6 months - not that we are deserting but left UK in August and have literally only just sorted out the net in our new Sydney home! God it's weird that some of you are still having a hard time selling houses, and poor pomerz - I really thought they'd have sorted this sh*t out by now how frustrated you must be!!! Well all is good here I just hope you all make it real soon - good luck to those of you still 'in progess' and hope the rest of you settle just as well as we are..... Take Care
Be Lucky n Happy New Year

Re: anyone applying july 2007
I have not posted for an age. Just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone!
We are still very much ''stuck'' in the UK. House not moving deispite plenty of interest. So very very very frustrating...:curse:
We validate in Oct 08, again that seems like another life time ago..
I wish everybody loads of Karma for 09 and those of you that made it over I wish you all the luck in the world

Hi All.....Developments are afoot !!
I posted this as a general topic earlier and wondered if anyone here had gone through the 137 route and been poked and prodded for financial details as mentioned below.......agh so close again but seemingly so far
Hi all can anyone help with some urgent advice please?
It seems every 1 step forward we take 3 back and after nearly 20 months of trying and stuck in the middle of the investment bond fiasco imagine our joy to find a state sponsorship this morning.....
Our agent has informed us its under a subclass 176 however as our original application was before sept 07 and was a 136 this application is to be granted under subclass 137.
Hope your sticking with me here.......
One of the obligations of the state sponsorship according to the letter is that we transfer $750,000 into an account into the country.....Something currently beyond our means (we had to list our current estate in our application once all sold which amounts at best to around 120k (uk) )
Has the dream gone again for us? ....we have been bouncing around the house all day after the telephone call this morning but sit here now feeling absolutely devastated that the final condition of the visa is beyond our reach....
Can any agents advise please or has anyone else come up against this please

Re: anyone applying july 2007
As per my understanding, it is not binding to transfer $750,000 to state/territory to secure STNI 137 visa. STNI 137 visa is granted based on your skills and other factors (and not $750,000). This is a huge sum by all accounts, please get the professional services of a reputable agent, he should be able to help you.
Good luck

Well folks good things do actually come to those who wait!
On the 30th December (unbeknown to us) we were granted a Permanent Visa....The call was made and Party Pomerz began
Thanks to all who have kept us in hope across the last 2 years and we look forward to joining up with most of you down under in 2010 (or in August when we will be over to validate).
