It looks like a black naped or black striped snake.

Keep your grass cut short around your house or anything they can hide in like wood piles, snakes hate open spaces where theres no where to hide.
Maybe get some animals that will frighten them away from the area like cats and dogs , cats eat mice , mice attract snakes to the area, also don't leave left over pet food out. As someone said unless you pick one up , accidently touch one or step on one your chances or being bitten are tiny.

Make sure you always shut the fly wire doors. Be careful around water. I have only seen one on our block in 23 years and we do have cats so I believe they make a difference. Also keep the garden neat and grass short.

They are everywhere so we just have to be careful and they are protected so killing them is against the law.

Snake catcher in yellow pages will come and move them for a fee.

We have copper heads around here but think they stay across the road on the farm land hope so anyway

Yes it might have been the mice that attracted the snakes into the shed in the first place, mice poison is a good idea, for those that are allowed pets and have a snake problem getting a few cats worked for someone l knew.

The cat that I had in South Africa used to bring snakes into the house

its breeding time, we live in bush. Ours tend to be tiger snakes been quite a few around here lately, 2 pet dogs have been killed by them in the last week. They are also looking for water.

Your lucky if you live with a ranger on hand Unfortunately when I asked the locals about relocating they just laughed, they relocate them with a shotgun around here legal or not! Some people we know had a the mother and baby in the backyard the other day, I AM glad to say the mother got away but they killed the baby.

I went for a walk the other day from our house to the local village, When walking along the road I had a close encounter with a tiger snake, That is only the 2nd snake I have seen since being here two years, We do live in the bush so I was expecting to see more.
