Anybody recent flown/booked through Austravel
Made enquiry re flight to Sydney in Feb 2006 one way and extra luggage. They said the only airline that did migrant fare (through them) was Cathy pacific for around £600 and with only 30kg - ie pay £230 more than their advertised single price with standard luggage allowance.
We would rather fly Singapore Airlines and I have found a post where someone validated (with a return, rather than single) in Jan 2005 getting 40kg for adults & 15kg for infants booking with Austravel.
Has it changed, or did the person I speak to not now her elbow from her arse?

Most people just travel on a one-way fare, not a special migrant fare. "Migrant" fares are often more expensive than normal fares. Just ask for a quote one-way with Singapore - I'm sure the majority that have flown with them just had ordinary fares and still got the extra baggage

Hi,
We used singapore airways. As long as you tell them at booking that you have you permanent visa and can prove it at the airport you will get the extra luggage allowance.

Mark

Hi
We also used Singapore airlines and just bought a one way ticket. I would always recommend booking with the airline directly as we have found their customer service excellent.
