We will be going to Melbourne, at the beginning of December, staying in the CBD for the first 4 weeks, and then looking for somewhere to rent, in the South East. Hope you get a few more replies!!!

What do you do, and have you any idea of how long it will be before you get your visas
Keep in touch and let me know how things are progressing?

I'd say that the Melbourne meet will soon become so large they'll start to sub divide into Melb. suburbs. Anyway I'm sure you'll find plenty of folk to have a drink with. Anya will be a stones throw from you!

Re: Anybody going to Melbourne??
HI CAS,
Hubby is a truck mechanic to trade and I am a Electrical store manager. So I think I shall pick a job easy enough, I dont mind even if it is only part time assistant, as I will probably do bookwork for my uncle anyway. So as the aussies say no worries something will happen. Hubby has already secured a job if we could only get passed the next hurdle and get there.
Cheers

Doesn't seem too bad - Anya has been in touch and has been really helpful too, so hopefully a drink with her will be one of my first ports of call.

We are also heading to Melbourne, hopefully by Easter 2006, with kids aged 3 and 1 in tow. Matt is a CNC Machinist hoping for work in the south east, in manufacturing.

Emerald's really nice. It's where they filmed that cheesy soap 'A Country Practice'. I lived there for two months and can recommend it.
Olinda and Sassafras are practically surrounded by the Dandenong Ranges National Park, so very scenic area.
Good luck to you and all others heading to this part of Aus. We need to get together sometime at the other end methinks!
