Any transferring RN (submariners) to Melbourne?

HI, we have just OK'd our TOS &, providing the VISA's are OK, hoping to be in Melbourne mid 08. I have been talking to RN transfers that are going to Perth as thats where we thought we would be off to, but surprise, surprise we have 12mths in Melbourne (Frankston). So would like to talk to anyone already there or on their way.
CAN'T WAIT NOW!!!

Hi Flo and Mags

O/H is submariner and we are currently awaiting TOS. We have thought all along this process that he'd be based in Perth so this is a big surprise that we could be sent somewhere else!!!!! Hoping to get TOS soon. He had to fax of more medical stuff last week (chest X-ray and spiro test). Process has been going on for ages now as original full application was sent off at beginning of March. So what happens now with you - what's the next step?

Hi Guys,

Congratulations,

Hubby is Army (well just signed off after 24 years) we are going to Frankston next week to validate our visa and we plan to move over there next year. Have been loads of times before as all Mums family are in Oz and I can tell you Melbourne is the place to be and Frankston (although it has had its fair share of reputation for being a bit rough in its day) is on the beautiful Mornington Peninsular which reminds me of SW UK (I am from Cornwall). Frankston has had millions ploughed into it and has turned a corner and become a desirable place to live (particularly south Frankston) with one of the best state schools in Melbourne. I think you will be going to the base on the other shore though near Hastings (HMAS Cerberus near Balnarring which is beautiful my fav place so quiet and wonderful beach).

Anyway best of luck and keep us posted.

Wish me luck as I have a job interview next week so could be over sooner than planned.

Cheryl
