My mum recently flew to america with BA paid good money for ticket....Flight delayed for 12hrs due to bad weather in chicago(called ohare they didnt know they had bad weather)Then bags got lost for 6 days.I dont see the difference if they are cheap tickets or expensive either way,I always travel in the knwledge that all my bags WILL be lost and that my flights will be DELAYED anything above and beyond this is a bonus!

I've just got back from a great time in Brisbane and I flew with Emirates.
Great service BUT one problem......there are 3 flights -
manchester - Dubai - 7/8 hours
Dubai - Singapore - 7 hours
Singapore - Brisbane - 7 hours

About 2 hours into each flight when you are about to get your head down for some kip, they turn on all the lights and serve dinner etc and then about 2 hours before landing there's another meal. Not alot of time for sleep.

I found that I was totally knackered on arrival and when you have a 3 yr old full of beans (coz they sleep fine) it's not the best situation.

Given the choice next time i think I'll fork out the extra £100 - £150 and fly Singapore as I much prefer the 14 hour bit between England and Singapore.

Emirates will soon be flying direct to Australia from Dubai.
