Any reason to choose Canada over Australia?
Thinking of moving to Canada.Sure they must have a lot in common but Aussie seems more expensive though e.g house, food etc...
Is it true that health is free in Canada?
Thanks guys

I would have honestly thought it would have been proxmity plus being in the Northern Hemisphere.

Actually I would have moved to Canada rather than Australia but the visa options were not really there for me. I'd prefer that lifestyle.

What next?. The entire globe is crap except for "resource rich" and "booming" Australia?

I'm really going to check out France thoroughly next time I venture North.

two cents from a canadian living in australia..
pros canada:
1) less creepy, death inducing insects
2) less aquatic killing mammals
3) free healthcare - i.e., going to a clinic, taking an ambulance.
4) the cold (aside from western parts of British Columbia) kills lots of creepy insects
5) cheap flights to Europe and through North & South America
6) cheaper rental market
7) very very multicultural
8) very strong interest in outdoor activities
cons canada:
1) disgustingly expensive post-secondary tuition
2) low minimum wage
3) 27 degrees is considered very very hot..when it hits 30 degrees, we hibernate and don't go out (exaggeration but hey u get the idea)
4) workaholics
5) 2 weeks paid holidays is considered to be the norm rather than 4 (?) weeks
6) parts of the country gets snowed for 1/3rd to 1/2 of the year..
i could go on..and on

2) yes theres less dangerous marine life in Canada but does that matter when its too cold to enter the water anyway.
7) OZ is very multicultural also, well Sydney and Melbourne is
8) Theres also plenty of interst in outdoors in OZ and OZ has a better climate for it.
