Default any poms moved to oz and consider themselves aussie now?

to me, that is a very shallow act...i met a guy from islington, who has been here 8 yrs and now doesnt consider himself english anymore...it makes my blood boil.

how can anyone turn their back on the greatest country on earth?...of course england has its fair share of problems. but true blue patriots dont turn their backs on somewhere because it has downfalls...

ill never consider myself aussie, and if i ever do, i hope i get hung for treason.

You may or may not be a troll but this is a very troll-like post - which I suspect is what you want it to be.

I'll be watching from the sidelines.

Just because someone wants to call themselves an Aussie ... so what ... why do you live in Aus if Britain means so much to you ? (you knew someone had to ask ).

I guess we are now supposed to start debating whether or not England is the greatest country on earth?

The people wanting to move to oz are meant to slag off the UK.

And the the homesick people are supposed to come on and defend England.

Nice try! I don't think people are that stupid to fall for such an obvious troll attempt.

I don't think he is a troll. After reading his previous posts I think he is just a very unhappy bloke that needs to talk to his wife and sort out about moving back.

Ok, I will bite. I was never a "true blue patriot" in England; in fact I always felt like I didn't quite belong somehow. I felt there was more to life than soap operas and going to the pub. Too many people up themselves. Despite having been in Australia just coming up to 2 years I feel like I came home and did literally within minutes of being off the plane. I feel far more loyalty to Australia than I did to England or Great Britain despite not even having citizenship yet.

I hadn't felt Britian was 'home' for a long time ....whereas in the nearly 3 years I've been here...I feel as though I've finally found some roots.
