If you have seen any of my other threads I am having a "wondering" week this week, so just wondered if there were any other Sheet Metal Workers out there either going to Oz or have already arrived!!

We are heading to Adelaide!!

My husband is currently a Director of a Stainless Steel Sheet Metal Working Company, and we were both wondering what expereinces people had had finding work etc when they got to Oz!!

You know usual
1) How easy is it to find work
2) Rate of Pay
3) Hours of work
4) What type of Sheet Metal Work have you found is the most in demand
5) Etc etc etc

Go on then I'll put you out of your misery and reply.

I'm afraid I can't give any info on Adelaide as I'm in Perth. I think the reason you've had no replies is that reletively few go to South Australia.

In last weeks job section of the West Australian there were 15 sheetmetal workers adds. None of them mentioned wages but I think they should be about $22 an hour.

Thanks for the information to on wages etc, do you know why they dont head to South Australia?? We were under the impression there was quite alot of sheet metal worker positions there, but we could be very wrong!!??

I don't have any knowledge of S Australia it just doesn't strike me as a hotbed of industry. I may be wrong but it is allways Qeensland and WA that gets all the attention with their booming economies.

SA may be doing very nicelly but doesn't advertise the fact.
