any move on house prices in WA?
I see 1 GBP has moved up to $2.15 from 1.97 when I last looked a month or so ago - hopefully this increase will continue. Just wondering whether house prices in WA are beginning to fall as suggestedd they may do from an earlier thread?

Ive noticed prices have slowed and reduced in my area.
However they have just announced a new port to be built. So now we are being flooded with leaflets and adverts regarding the boom that is coming and new property being built.
They have already upgraded marina, and built new parks, paths, water park etc on the seafront in town.
So reckon it looks like prices in my area are prob going to go back up again and may spiral upwards once work starts next year.

No reduction yet down here, but a lot on the market that isn't moving

I would not be thinking about buying in Perth at the moment - that's for sure. The fact that it's more expensive than Melbourne and approaching Sydney for av. house prices tells you it's WAY overvalued.

I've heard about big drops - between asking and selling prices.

Up where i am (in one part of the hills)
Houses are selling again......slighty lower compared to the prices they were reaching at the start of the year
but they are moving and fairly quick (compared to how they were 2 months ago)

Have a look at auction prices for a more realistic picture. Estate agents are bricking it right now!

Would anyone recommend a particular site for auction prices in WA? Can anyone recommend a particular place to live up a hill that still incorporates many of the benefits of not living up a hill, ie shops, sport facilities / amenities etc? Sam?
