What's a local beer that comes close to Boddies, Tetleys, Old Speckled...

Any decent bitter-types at approx $45/slab?

What I mean is, knowing where you are could help people recommend stuff. I know some great Tassie beers for instance but you can't get them on the mainland

Go through this list from one of my local pubs and I reckon you'll find one.

Over 70 Victorian beers available.

Melbournes changing faster than ever.... as so are it's tastes.

Not a Pokie in sight Couple of pubs like this in Coburg and walking distance of me now.

Check out the bar.... All different beers.

How can you mention decent bitter, and then Boddies and Tetleys in the same sentence ?

Thats like Aussies refering to VB and Tooheys New as decent lager

I think I'm all nostalgic with the Jubilee.

I have now realised the error of my ways, and renewed my allegiance to Aussie 'lager'.

James Squire Golden Ale has had a few mentions - will try that next.

Ended up getting Carlton Draught as no JSGA in stock; too gassy for me, but it has the desired effect, particularly when followed by port.

You know you are getting old when you start drinking port.

Sorry. But yuck. Agree with the VB comment but little creatures is still not a patch on good beer and you need a mortgage to spend a night there. Squires, well I have sent better over the porcelain

I've drunk Port since I was about 20. Lovely drop at the end of a meal. Well I can't any more, I'd be sick but that's another matter.
