Hi, Werribee is to the far west of the city on the Princes Freeway, about 45 minutes from the CBD and 45 minutes from Geelong and the start of the Great Ocean Road. It has an ok shopping centre with a massive proposed centre being built in neighbouring Hopper's Crossing. It is generally quite quiet, but a fairly nice place with a low crime rate, although Laverton is not too far away and that is quite rough. Nearby beaches include Altona and Williamstown but the Ocean Road and Bellarine peninsula are worth the drive. Housing is relatively cheap as the west is generally less desirable than the East but things are looking better and the West are supposedly the place for housing investments.

However, you won't know whether it's for you or not until you've been there so don't tie yourself into a long term rental/mortgage....just my advice

I'm not too sure about the schools there, although Williamstown Grammar in Hopper's Crossing is a good school.

It also has the cheapest absolute bayside living in the whole of Melbourne, at a place called Campbells cove and Werribee west. The Sewerage farm is big, but not too much of a problem for locals. The Government are about to build A multi million dollar Marina down there for the high flyers.

Probably from a financial point of view one of the top 20 pct of places to invest in in Melbourne.

You can't lose.
