Default Any good hotels in Brisbane

can anybody recommend a hotel for us to stay in (not to expensive) for about a week when we arrive in Brisbane, somewhere near to the airport suitable for 2 adults and 2 kids age 10 & 11. something to tide us over till we find somewhere to rent.

Thanks
Hazel

When are you arriving ?

There are a few furnished houses around that go for about $600 for one week, probably cheaper than a hotel.

What area (or part of Brisbane) will you be looking to settle in ?

For Hotels you could look at www.wotif.com Brisbane

Here is an example of one hotel search from that site: http://www.wotif.com/Hotel.jsp?hotel=9558

We stayed in the Medina Apartments for 2 weeks when we first arrived. Had a nice one bed apartment, little kitchen area, dining table, sofa and desk and then separate bedroom and bathroom with laundry facilities in the bathroom. You can get 2 bedroom ones. It is very central to the city and has parking if you decide to rent a car. It was a great base to do a rekky of the whole area. Can't remember how much it cost - but it must have been a good deal for me to book it! Any of the mentioned websites should site them. Brisbane is a great place. We are actually heading back to the Sunshine Coast having spent 18months in Perth, we are once again selling up and moving! Good luck
