Hi

Arriving in Adelaide on Monday morning and looking to buy a prepay phone for use next week and future use once we move over for good, has anybody got any ecomendations or know of any good deals?

On our recce I bought an optus sim from a post office for $30 that worked out well but I need a phone too this time, nothing too fancy but I'd like to be able to check emails and Facebook etc

Any advice appreciated

Phones are expensive here, you'd be better off buying an unlocked phone from carphone warehouse and claiming VAT back in my opinion (especially if you're spending £). Then can carry on using optus SIM card for a while

If your own phone is unlocked just bring it over, put in a prepaid sim and use that. No point in buying another phone.

Money penny, I haven't got an unlocked mobile any more, I did what you suggested last time and if any body has an unlocked mobile phone I'd advise they do the same, thanks for the link I'll have a look through them.

Penny45 your solution is so blindingly obvious and sensible I'm embarrassed it didn't occur to me. What a numpty, there was me about to buy a phone using one of the worst exchange rates ive ever seen!
Off to car phone warehouse later today
