Any Chefs out there?

Hi, I'm looking for anybody out there who works as a chef in Australia. I'm presently working as an Executive head chef in the south of the U.K.

What I want to know are working conditions and pay! I've heard there are unions in the catering trade, is it a good thing or not?

Any info grately appreciated.

Not a chef but believe me if you are not in a Union in Australia god help you no one else will,am sure you will get about same working hours ,pay more than likely less.
Good to hear you are on your way here , this country could with some good British chefs , nearly every eating house here is Asian or italian.
PS Do you cook a Steak & Kidney pie ? cannot find anyone who does here would pay well over the odds for one.
