Any cheap self contained tempory accommodation in Brisbane?

Can anyone recommend any clean & cheap temporary self contained accommodation in Brisbane? (1 bedroom )

I am sure a lot of people have been in my situation, where you have no relatives or friends to doss at, but don’t want to pay Motel rates for months until you have found a rental.

Any advice or “first arrival stories would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Years ago when I first went to Brisbane and wanted temporary accommodation I stayed
in a very nice Boarding House in New Farm not far from the city, so it may be an
option for you.

I found a rental and secured it in one day (moving from another city). I don't know
why you'd be waiting months!
