Any car dealers?? Please help!
Hello all,
I intend to import a 2004 Mercedes CL500 to Perth and am aware of the shipping and taxation costs. These cars are £25K - £30K in the UK and are about $175K to $200K for an approved used car in a Mercedes dealer there. I want to bring it in and keep it for a few years with low depreciation. I am sure they can maintain it as it will effectively be the same as a dealer import.
I am trying to find an rule of thumb to apply to understand the value of the car I personally import compared to one that I could buy from a dealer in Perth.
Say a "approved used" car from a Mercedes dealer was $75K, how much would the same car, same spec /mileage / condition be if it had been personally imported by me? Do the dealers actually trade in personal imports themselves?
