Any Canadians playing ice hockey in Oz?
 

Hi there,

I'm just wondering if there is anyone from Canada or the States that has played ice hockey in Australia? My husband and I both play ice hockey and we're wondering what the ability level is like over there.

I have done a lot of research and know where all the teams are near where we would be moving so I'm really just looking for personal experience.

Also I'm wondering if there will be NHL hockey on television next year as there wasn't this year.

The NHL is playing as we speak. They are playing the semi-finals and the two winning teams will be playing for the stanley cup. And please note that for once a canadian team is in the semi-finals and doing well!

You must mean last year when the NHL was on strike for an extended period of time!

Congrats on you playing hockey. I love seeing strong women playing hockey. We need more of them!

I know there's hockey on television in Canada but I was told that it wasn't on in Australia this year. Trust me I remember the strike... my husband was beside himself with grief :) . I've been cheering for the Senators as usual... but yet again they lost to Buffalo... I'm really beginning to dislike them.

So for clarification is there actually hockey on tv in Australia?

Cheer for the oilers they are doing really well. One more game and they've won the western semi-final.........!

And of course we cant forget Team Canada who is won against finland yesterday!
