Re: any boll**ks
a refreshingly blunt post, much after my own heart. I can't stand the fact the people go to a place and try to change it to suit what they want instead of going to a place and adapting to it. Take it as you find it.

Re: any boll**ks
Dont really understand why whether you are taking your own white goods or not means you're trying to change a place - surely once you're there and fitting in with the way of life / mixing with the "natives" this is more important?
I cant understand, for instance, that family on Place Down Under who moved from Wales to Melbourne, then socialised purely with other Welsh Expats! |
Re: any boll**ks
My nine year old son and I were discussing the other day what we would take to Aus. when and If we get our visa (family of 5)..All he is taking is his (mine) XBOX and all I could think of was my swiss army penknife and my new wind up radio...!!!!! BRING IT ON.....

Re: any boll**ks
i s'pose you could say that by taking the opinion that the white goods you have in the UK are better than those in Aus could be deemed as a bit barmy and perhaps you should get rid, minimalise and go with whatever you can afford in the country you are going to make your home. Incidentally, I really don't take the opinion that white goods are better in the UK. They are just different, that's all.
