Answer these Questions please!!!!!!
Hi can anybody please help a very frustrated familly,
myself my wife and two children are in the early stages of the imigration process, We are doing this via the skilled persons visa as my wife is a primary school teacher.
QUESTIONS
1)We sent the application off on the 20th March and still have not received any info how long can we expect to waite?(Skills Assessment)
2)I have read that some states including south Australia do state sponsorship how do i find out iff teachers are on this list and who do we contact to find out about state sponsorship?
3)I have also read some people talking about paying to have skills assessments fast tracked how does this work and is it worth paying for?
4)Given the choice of destination we are looking at Soth Australia or Perth any suggestions on good suburbs in these states.
Any replys or information will be very much appreciated.

You should really try and post this question on the Australian Immigration Forum rather than this one which is for more general questions i.e. Does my hoover work in Oz and other important issues for people!!!
There will be lots of help for you on the immigration forum which is at the the end of the page at the bottom so give it a try, I don't know the answers regarding your application otherwise I would help, but I'm a bit new at this myself!!! Good Luck

Skills assessments normally take between 4 - 8 weeks, depending on the authority and your case. Fast tracking is only an option with the TRA, I think. The agency I submitted to did not have the option, but mine came through within 2 weeks. I have a BSc degree and I guess it was pretty straight forward, as they only assessed qualifications and not work experience. My husband's was fast tracked with the TRA and came through in about 4 weeks, although it was submitted a week before Christmas, so probably would have come back sooner at another time of the year.
Have a look at the immigration website www.immi.gov.au and download the booklet for answers to most of your questions. You can also go to the gomatilda website (link from this forum), there are plenty of FAQ's there.
Hope you find the answers,
Hazel.
