Question Another question on Medicals!

Can anyone help me on this. I am applying for a defacto spouse visa and I am about to do my medicals. It stated that if I was going for a PR visa I should have certain blood tests like HIV etc and if I was going on a temporary visa then these test weren't necessary.

The spouse visa is temporary for the first 2 years and then if granted is permenant so should I have the extra test done or not?

The doctor will do the full medical - the "shortened version" is for temp visas like 457. The Temp Spouse Visa leads to PR, and usually another medical is not required, so you will do the full one now.

Most spouse visas have a temporary 2 years before they become permanent - its largely a formality getting the PR as long as you are still in a continuing rel'ship. The lucky people who get their PR straight off have been together for several years, and/or got kids together.
You must be one of the lucky ones!
