Another $ to £ question.
Hi all....
Can anyone enlighten me with some currency info?
We almost bit the bullet and changed the rest of our money last week at 2.25. In my greed, I held off - and it's steadily dropped back down to 2.20. Bummer.
I am wondering what effect an interest rate rise may have on the $ to £?
If the interest rate goes up - creating a bigger difference between the Australian and English rates, is the dollar likely to reduce further in value against the pound? I wonder if thats why it's dropped a little again in anticipation.
By the same token - if the rate is held, would the dollar likely increase in value?
Wish I had converted it all at once last year at 2.4odd....

What if, what if, what if....
Professional people make a living on speculating on the exchange markets. Nobody has a crystal ball i'm afraid.
On the plus side once you live here your cheer when the pound is so crap against the dollar.

I know there id no way of predicting these things - but certain factors do play a big part, such as interest rates. I was just intersted if there were any finace experts on here that have opinions on that.

we were lucky. we got 2.49 last year. Some people got 2.54. Am waiting for it to go up again as 2.25 is pretty low. It will go up but you just need to be ready!
