Good on ya!

well, i couldn´t resist to through in a few words... though i´m not from Oz, neither UK... here´s a post from good ole Germany-Munich....hope u don´t mind.

looking out the window of my nicely warmed-up appartment, i can see a clear blue and sunny sky.. no prob to compete to the Oz-skyes i´d say.. the only thing is, it´s freaking cold (around 2° C). but i´m not complaining about it, i really do wish to get white x-mas this year, coz it´s gonna be my last one in the western hemisphere for a while... moving to Sydney next year for good.

so, not really jealous, i am.....

sry, for being that boring and holding back the tomatoes... but enjoyable to read the posts anyway.

I wish all of you a merry x-mas, whereever u hang around!!!

Went out for a night out a couple of days ago ... romantic snowfall .. brief thought of *ahhh* ... then thought "ugh - my feet are wet. We'll never get a taxi, I'll drive, and I'll just have one drink." Swept wet snow off glass. Peered through misted up side windows as I reversed. Picked my way over skittery roads with limited vision due to it being night time and Britain only paying for sodium street lights (of course if I lived somewhere where it snowed more than twice a year I'd consider snow chains, and the council might consider gritting) Managed to avoid drunk people with their eyes closed against horizontal sleet. Got to destination safely. Had good evening. Returned to car. No snow to look at.

Wohoo!!!! weather changed during the day here.... from blue sky to heavy snow..... the temperature dropped some degrees....now it is all white and really cold it IS ...... cracking, icy, slippery roads (well, not everyone´s cup of tea.... but i left my car in the garage..), snowy glow.... fingers crossed, that it goes on or at least stays cold over x-mas.... and my wish would come true....

Ok, i have to admit, the current weather isn´t everyone's darling... but it has its good side.... the x-mas feeling´s just the way one might think it should be....
hey, over there in the heat... ever heard of 'Glühwein' (hot, cinnamon spiced wine), nice self-baked cookies, the cold outside but without a care about it coz of the heating going inside is making it cosy and warm???

tempted again, knowing i will experience a quite different one from next year on.... foolish and sentimental u might think... but hasn´t a single soul b4 me experienced that sentimental feeling as well: once u know u will leave or have left, u somehow get overwhelmed with feelings and memories....

Hi DianeOZ,
even though u would get it, i bet u wouldn´t admire it at peak temps like these.... but for ur winter times, i don´t know... here (Bavaria, Germany) it´s kind of an institution in the cold winter nites (ahem, and sometimes days... )

Speaking of summer heat, is it a hot day again over there??

Yes, snuggled up under the duvet on a cold Oz day, sounds good.

Cooled off in Perth today at 25 degrees. Yesterday was blistering at 38 degrees. (I got in the car and felt my lips burning)

Christmas Day is forecast 34 and boxing day 38 degrees, heading up to 40 for the end of the week.

We can always work on adding at least a coupla degrees to what they say for Perth - as the forecasts dont cover anywhere else on the West coast...sometimes I wonder if I'm actually living on the moon.....Anyway - it was 43 in Gero - on the beach yesterday.... We were in land where it was about 45 and - yes it was hot but I managed to take it easy and not kill any of the locals so I was pretty impressed with myself!!
Must be getting used to it - finally.
