I did hear that it got really cold around here last winter.

Apparently one of the locals was seen walking around wearing a "Jumper" !! And it lasted for about 4 days !!!!

I do admit that I did wear long sleeve shirts for about 8 weeks during the winter just gone.

So yes, it does get "cold" up here in QLD

I fully sympathise with your predicaments over there.
It's a case of "Oh NO! Not ANOTHER clear blue sky!!!"
And that sand is a bugger when it gets up the crack of yer arse after bobbing about in the sea!

Twenty million trillion ginormous juicy red tomatoes coming your way!

There is still no swell to go out in the blue sunny sky. Another swim and run it will be although the heat will make it tiring. Maybe the case of cold beer will help afterwards.

Know what you mean - it was lovely and cloudy this morning, then all that went away, leaving us with this piggin' blue sky again!

Damn! Just checked the weather forecast for the rest of the week...

Tuesday
Fine, partly cloudy day. Light to moderate southwest winds, turning moderate southeast late morning and freshening near the coast in the afternoon.
Min: 19C Max: 25C
Wednesday
Fine, mainly sunny. N/NE winds.
Min: 19C Max: 29C
Thursday
Fine, mainly sunny. NW/NE winds, late SW change.
Min: 21C Max: 33C
Saturday, Sunday and Monday
Fine, warm to very warm.

Oh well, I suppose it could be worse......

Yep, even in Dunedin the summer arrived and whilst we do have to suffer the odd refreshing zephyr since we live in coastal green hills, it's already 33 degrees C a few kms inland and the sunbathing mob is already crowding my favourite beaches. Sunbathing sea lions, that is.

Going to swig a couple of tinnies on Boulder Beach tonight as I watch my yellow-eyed penguin mates come home from the day's kill.

Shocking day in the Eastern suburbs yesterday - BP was right. I had my new prototype bodyboard all ready for a debut, but not a hint of a wave.

Had to make do with brekkie/lunch at the beach then on to Coogee for a few coldies and some shopping, then a barbie in the evening.

I was exhausted by 8pm

That yearly low has surprsed me - not sure if Sydney got into single figures this last winter. ( not including the outer West)

I was in outer west Sydney 2 winters ago, and we had ice on the car windscreen for about 1 week !!!
I remember the first day very well..... you want a laugh ?.....

My wife had just left the house to go to work.
The phone rang.....
It was my wife on her mobile
She said.... help! somethings wrong with the car windscreen.
I went out.....
The wipers were frozen to the screen......
The poor thing was so confused, and to cold to come back to the house, hence her call from her mobile.

Now we are in QLD the only ice we see is on our drinks

I bet the WA government tourist department paid for that umbrella to be sat there. They've been looking at too many brochures!

Now we're to believe you get bronzed young couples lounging around on beaches in Australia. I'm not convinced!

It is disgraceful that the swell has risen to 4ft and there is a nice offshore combing it. Just had a paddle out with no wetsuit. Only hit this arvo.
