Pollyanna, who was the local company you used who subcontracted, just wanna make sure I don't do the same and cant find it through searching

Pollyana Aug 6th 2004 2:35 am

Wouldn't go near them again. Lots of psychological distress more than actual loss, but I spent a couple of months believing a lot of my stuff was missing for good. No contact from the company, after they gave me the wrong ship, the wrong importers, and the wrong arrival date.
The guys are right, if you go back to Jan/Feb and read my posts, you can experience my frustration.
Someone recently had them in to pack their place up and said they were like a bunch of cavemen.

I know its too late for you, Benna, and I really feel for you, but lets at least hope that it warns off anyone else from using this bunch of idiots calling themselves a removal firm. Some firms do read these forums - let this be a lesson. we pay lots of money for a good service, and trust you removal guys with many precious possessions. At least do us the courtesy of attempting to deliver things in one piece.

Pollyana Aug 6th 2004 2:38 am

Kala, the original removal firm was called ALS World Movers, they are based on the Knoll Estate in Hove.
They subcontracted to ***** ******** after telling me they did all the work themselves, and sent an old guy and his daughter to get the stuff out of my flat. I moved 70% of the gear, they were hopeless. I wouldn't recommend them AT ALL, not even to move from Brighton to Hove.

anglo pathetic!!

thanks for all that not nice for anyone else to have had problems with them, but nice to know that we are not alone !!!!

They are terrible we have made so many complaints to them and they dont even respond... thinking on spending the money and going to a solicitor, teach them a lesson and try to make sure that other people dont get the same thing with them !!

They are so not sorry about it and they have lost things that cant be replaced !!! They even emailed me some photos that they thought were ours, they werent I still have them on my pc so if anyone is missing some pics let me know and Il forward the email to you as they are sitting in AP warehouse !!!!

Did anyone have any results with them sorting it out or compo or anything? Im trying to get them to refund some of the cost, after all why should I pay to have stuff removed that has got lost !!!!

Thanks

claire x

REally feel for anyone who has problems with all their stuff, mine is currently en route and I'm tracking it like a hawk :)

Have you tried going to whoever governs that industry? Slightly different I know, but I went to the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) on behalf of my boyfriends dad who ordered something online from the UK. We don't have a result yet, but so far the ASA have been absolutely brilliant, loads of correspondance. Just an idea.

Fingers crossed for you.
