Weve claimed a couple of times through BUPA and never had a problem. Looks like they do stand alone cover.

Thanks.I just had a quick look.It comes in around $88 per year.Which I suppose doesn't seem too bad when you consider how much an ambulance would cost to call out.

I had to look into it recently and BUPA came out tops if only wanting Ambulance. All the others wanted other stuff, and cost $$$

Hmmm, this reminds me that I need to take out Ambulance cover. I think I had spotted that HCF were the cheapest, but completely failed to do anything about it...

Is that NSW? In Qld we don't need to have cover, and I have only researched WA specific, but perhaps I will have a look at HCF, don't remember them coming uo in a WA search.....

Yeah, NSW. They maybe don't offer cover in WA. Some of these healt fund things are local only.

I used to have it included in my Hospital cover, but I discovered that I could save far more than the cost of separate cover by removing it, so I did. Of course, I haven't actually got around to arranging it yet, so it's saving me even more, right up to the point I need an ambulance

And the problem is that you can't plan in advance for that

Hi Irish, how are you going? I hope you enjoyed your holiday, we're just back from ours and had a mega time but I'm glad to be home again!

HBF does stand alone urgent ambulance cover in WA - have a look at this link
https://www.hbf.com.au/health-insura...gent-ambulance

The blurb says the premium for single coverage is $68.25 per annum, after the government rebate of 29.4% is deducted from the premium. You can get an instant online quote by following the above link.
