I think i read somewhere that you can get ambulance cover prior to arrival...has anyone doen this and can provide me with a link ?
Are there different levels of cover? is it like car insurance cover where you can shop around?

We got ours after arrival but I'm sure I read of someone who did it before arrival. Well worth it - we have family cover for $120 per year.

Some private health insurances cover for ambulances, but I'm not sure whether they cover everything, so it's best to get the vic ambulance one as well.

We've got Private Health Ins that covers us for a limited amount of Ambulance costs so we have the Vic Amb annual family cover too.

Lee it was me.

We bought ours 2 months before arrival as you get slightly reduced cover for the first 2 months. You can get it online - you just have to give a Victorian address. Plus its one less thing to think about when you're here.
