Hiya,

I don't think you would be classed as an international student if you've got PR. I'm continuing a full-time course in Adelaide next year and when I asked a similar question (to the college and an emigration agent) they both said that if I've got PR then I'd be classed as a full resident for study purposes.

Good luck with the Masters

Actually I am offshore current student in Monash University and I left three modules to complete my Master of IT. I think it is really a waste if I withdrawal the course. I decided to transfer offshore to on campus.
P.S. I enroll the course before I got the PR visa.

Our daughter is applying to uni in freemantle. Having spoken to the uni she will be an international student until she gets PR then she will be oz resident and fees reduce accordingly. These can be adjusted accordingly dependent on when PR comes through. Apparently you must leave the country (oz) though at time PR is granted.

Hope this helps

Sarah,

That's only applicable to applicants of offshore visas. Onshore visa applicants need not leave Australia for their visas to be granted.

Hi Peter

Daughter will be in uk at time of PR application. Not sure what she will come under on application form though as she will be between school that she finishes at the end of this month and uni that starts in oz in feb

Sarah,

Your daugther will be treated as a non-PR until her PR is granted. And if you've applied for a skilled visa of subclasses independent or sponsored (other than the onshore overseas skilled visa subclasses), it'll be an offshore visa, meaning, you'll have to leave Australia for it to be granted (not just the main applicant, but everyone included in the application).

Default Help me.

I need some help...i did graduate diploma in IT from RMIT,Melbourne...i had to withdraw from the course to attend my terminally ill mother who was suffering with cancer.I've applied for PR in october 2002(10/10/03) as an offshore applicant.
I haven't got any request for medicals so far. All my friends there in australia have got their PR's 4 months ago. I had everything ready..but could not lodge my application when i was there...i had to rush back. I have submitted both australian and local police clearance. Is it advisable to send medicals with out getting any intimation...any idea about how long is it going to be for me to get PR? Its been very dissapointing and harsh for me to wait like this for almost 71/2 months now...dont know whats happening. All my friends say..its not advisable to contact DIMA.

Any help and advice would be of great help.
Please help me.
