All done now - just need approval !

Well the visa application has been carefully compiled.

All the copies are certified, the info is there and signed.

Gonna send it off on Monday morning and hope/pray/cry for the best!!!

Anyone got any words of wisdom which will stop me from climbing the walls...

... Or is everybody else ALREADY climbing the walls.

How long does it usually take for AHC to decide. I am applying for a spouse visa (de facto).

Cheers for all the help along the way so far. Sure there will be a few more posts between now and then!!!

Hi Anthony

I am applying for a different visa (136 skilled independant) so can't help you with the waiting times, I'm afraid.

However I can tell you that climbing the walls is normal and to be expected. Try posted tons of answers to questions on this forum in the meantime, and you may feel slightly better. (It seems to be working for me!!)

Good luck

Mel

All front end loaded,

With regards to stat decs - I have 2

One from fioncees mother and one from police officer.

I aint got any from MY family because they refused as they dont want me to go.

Will this present a problem in 'proving relationship'

Hope not ...

I wouldn't have thought so. Write a covering note exaplining your family's position. I'm sure they will have seen people in this position before. Can you get a letter stat dec from a lifelong friend instead?

could do - got plenty of them. Should I get that done aswell and send it WITH the application OR

Should I include letter and see what the outcome is??

Cheers

As your application is ready to send now I would write a covering note explaining why there is no input from your family, and offer to get a letter from a lifelong friend if more info is required.

Send it off straight away and you may find this will be enough. If not then they can take you up on your offer of getting a letter from a friend.

I hope things work out with your family. They will be the ones to regret it if they let you moev away without making up.

I would type it to ensure it is legible, and sign it at the bottom. As this will be an original letter there will be no need to certify it, so you could get the application sent off today!

Will keep you informed!

Just write a general covering letter

"Dear sir, please find enclosed the following information in support of my visa application

stat dec from police office
stat dec from fiance's mother
police checks, etc

than add an extra paragraph, something like

"Unfortunatley my family are not as happy about my intended move to Australia as I am and for this reason were unwilling to provide stat dec's on my behalf. I have approached some of my lifelong friends who are more than happy to provide stat dec's, should the enclosed information prove insufficient."

I'm sure that they will be used to this situation, and it will not go against you

best of luck

Mel
