all booked now
flying 19th feb!! on Cathay
Staying in Wynnum-Manly near the Pandanus beach, anyone living around this area find it ok?
Got to make an itinerary of car places and rentals (areas include bayside, sunshine coast (Mountain Creek, Noosa Heads) nd maybe Ormeau and a few of the areas on the gold coast.
Anyone done similar, any new opinions?
Cheers

Good luck for the 19th!
We live in the Cleveland area just down the coast from Wynnum / Manly. 'Bayside' areas very family friendly areas and popular with ex-pats.
Noosa is a fair way out of Brisbane (1.5 to 2 hrs drive depending on traffic). Probably OK if working on Sunshine Coast but probably too long to commute to Brisbane. Sunshine Coast is gorgeous though, but worth noting that half-way down it you've got Maroochydore and at the bottom you've got Caloundra - still a bit far from Brisbane but I'm sure some think the commute is worth it.
Ormeau is topside of Gold Coast and feasible to commute to Brisbane. Probably the cheapest of your areas but is a bit in a no-man's land on the motorway between Brisbane and Gold Coast and not near the sea. On the assumption that you want to be near water (bayside and sunshine coast) I would suggest looking further down the Gold Coast nearer the beaches.
I think most locals would like the chance of living on the sunshine coast, but most well paid jobs are in Brisbane.
The area you've highlighted is a wide area (3 hours drive from Noosa to Gold Coast). Try narrowing it down a bit or you'll be doing a lot of driving when you get here!
