Re: Alcohol Question.
Expensive in comparison to what? In comparison to UK currently everything seems expensive cos of the exchange rate. When I arrived everything here seemed really cheap.............cos of the exchange rate.
And you only need about $10 to be over the drink drive limit. :sneaky: |
Re: Alcohol Question.
If you want to compare to UK here is what is what it has cost me today. I have just bought in UK a litre bottle of Smirnoff vodka for £13.00 which at exchange rate is $20.22 and 3 bottles of decent aussie wine for £10.00 - $15.63.

Re: Alcohol Question.
Australia is not expensive more than the UK is too cheap.
US and Uk are much cheaper than many countries. Goes to show the differrnce in economies though. |
Re: Alcohol Question.
Booze here is shocking. We were in Margaret River last week and went for dinner in Must bar and restaurant the sister of the one in Perth. We had two share plates, so the food was too expensive - by Perth standards. But the booze! Me and the wife had a cocktail each. Nothing fancy just a martini, then a glass of red each then i had a vodka after the meal. Total cost for the bar bill = $103. Nearly fell off the chair.
I am always amazed at the cost of booze here. My local, which is just a everyday pub charges nearly $10 a pint. Forget the exchange rates that is a rip off any way you look at it. |

Just how can anyone here get done for drink driving or being pissed in the street, the price of beer's and spirits here is ridiculous.
We can only afford to go for the cheap $5 a bottle local piss and thats what it is, bottled beers like water, and the local pubs charge waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much for a pint. Hubby can't wait for his brew kit to land and get pissed in his own yeasty sugary % proofed way:eek: Just why is it so expensive though? |

Drinking out here last weekend was MEGA, £4.50 for a glass of wine in the local - that's as much as a bottle from the supermarket costs. :sneaky: |
Re: Alcohol Question.
We just drove back from a drive upto Lancelin, so many dead roo's on the side of the road. But even more broken and empty beer bottles all over the shoulder of the road:(
Just another head scratcher for us has to how people want to drink and drive and still have the desire to just throw it out the window for anything to get hurt on it, let alone the cost issues? We just drove past a thirsty camel about 60clicks up the wanneroo road in the middle of know where...why? And the prices judging by the billboards cost even more:eek: |
