Default Airsoft Guns

We have a collection of airsoft pistols and rifles which all the family use as they fire 6mm plastic balls rather than metal pellets, are we going to have problems with customs.

I think you might, My uncle bought one in America and it was conviscated by cutoms along with a home visit to read him the riot act. They threatend to take legal action if he did it again. I wouldn't risk it personally.

Are imitation guns not illegal in Australia anyway? Airsoft is great fun its a shame the few who abuse these things spoil the fun for the rest of us...

This should help....

I think you will find the situation is a little complex. On one hand you have to meet the Federal customs laws when bringing any firearm into the country, but final destination (state) will ultimately determine the legality an licencing requirements for owning any firearm.

I think even shooters attending interstate meets have to get paperwork done and comply with transportation and storage criteria to take a firearm from say Perth to Melbourne for a competition.
