AIM or VETASSESS

We're going for the 139 Skilled Migration Visa. Now one of us has to go for the Skills Test, does anyone have any info on which one would be best?

The VETASSESS seems easier as we just have to state education quals, whereas AIM is far more detailed and difficult. Is this a case of looking a gift horse in the mouth or is it more beneificial to go through with AIM.
Thanks

As long as your work experience is really in a skilled occupation (and not in a related semi-skilled or clerical occupation) and you meet the normal skill requirements, then there's usually no problem choosing Vetassess if you can get assessed in a 50 point occupation and avoid the AIM process. For example, Management Consultant. DIMIA are normally ok with this.

If your skills only match up to a 40 point occupation - get professional advice as it can get a lot more complex.
