Which agents?
Hi, I am hoping to give an agent a call in the coming week, to start the Visa process, I am going for a 136 Skilled migrant, from the Uk as an electrician, with girlfriend and baby.
Just wandered if anybody had any recommendations, and what sort of money they got charged. |

I did mine my self with a bit of help on here i would say DIY , you still have to tell the agent all the same info as DIMIA . The money saved not using an agent paid for my flights to Perth :D Most agents charge about £900 i think . A mate of mine used Wessex migration in Poole and got a visa ok :p Others on here have said they are good too . Its not realy hard just time consuming and long winded . Good luck . |

Re: Which agents?
George Lombard is very good and highly recommened on this site we used him very reasonable. Haven't seen Greys mentioned before, but that doesn't mean there not good. :D If you go to the immigration forum and do a search for agents you will get many come up. George, Alan Collet and Go Matilda are the most mentioned.

Jo and Ian Harrop is mentioned too.. www.ianharrop.co.uk :D Good Luck on choosing an agent, it took us a long time to settle with one. Thats after speaking too and emailing a vast amount to get a feel for their ethos etc. |
Re: Which agents?
We used ASA and just got our STNI visa to SA in 3mth 5 dys from application date to grant, phew!! frontloaded PCCs and did unrequested meds 6wks after ack, only email we got after ack was our visa grant email from agent on same day as it was granted in Adelaide, great service, and they're nearly always available for online chats at silly times of the day! ;)

Re: Which agents?
Hi Mate
We have just sent off requested pcc and meds. Take it from me you do not need an agent. Im also an electrician. The hardest part is the TRA. Just list all the work you do and all tools and go down to basics. Thats the most riskiest part-the visa application is straight forward. It costs enough to get there already without agent fees. My TRA first attempt with no input from anyone else came back positive. If you do fail the TRA then maybe get an agent but you will have only risked just over £200 for this and if its a yes you have saved £1300. I can send you a copy of my TRA if you like but just have a look at the form and see what you think-its not hard. Good luck whichever way you decide Regards Darren |
Re: Which agents?
We used an agent and are now nearing the end of the process......Dont get me wrong our agent is fantastic and we would recommend her whole-heartedly, however....
If you are a pretty sorted kind of person and good with getting things in order....DO IT YOURSELF! It really aint that hard...use this forum for any Q's you may need answering. There are literally hundreds of people on here that are all going through the same thing! Good luck with whatever you decide! |
Re: Which agents?
I thought it might be a good idea to use an agent, as I am a self employed electrician, and it was for peace of mind.

Re: Which agents?
We used GoMatilda and can't fault them, they were excellent.
