Default Agent - no show !!

Had our first meeting booked with our agent last Friday. Spent ages getting all the documentation together, finding passports, birth certificates and the worst - our marriage certificate (thought I'd burnt it in a previous moment of anger! ).

Hubby had to write his cv and, as a builder, there's no way he can remember everyone he's worked for over the last 9 years, so that took ages.

We arrived, really excited, only to find that the agent had gone to Oz a month before and had decided to extend his stay and forgot to cancel our appointment !!

We were absolutely gutted - needless to say won't be using that agent. Back to the drawing board.

That's bloody awful We didn't use an agent (skilled independant 136) but alot of people have noted that Alan Collett is very good (Go Matilda). He and his team are helping my parents in law with the retirement visa nightmare and he may be a good person to contact. On the positive side you've now got all the info you need at the moment so make copies and have a beer/wine or seven, deep breaths and then plan who to go with. You will get there and not everyone is as inconsiderate as this agent.

Heh heh! Gotta hand it to the fairer sex, when it comes to throwing away wedding/ engagement rings, packing a suitcase and going home to momma or (as here) burning the marriage certificate, they go places the male of the species would never DREAM of going.

(We're worried we might get taken at face value - insecurity.)

Good plan - Helen O'Hare from Go Matilda was our second choice so she has now jumped to the top of the list very quickly.

Original agent was supposed to get me to perth - not take himself off there !

The thing is - if my hubby had done it he would NEVER have been forgiven.

If I had done it he wouldn't have been at all bothered !
