Default Agencies for construction jobs

Hi,
Can anyone recommend any agencies for construction management jobs in Sydney?
We have independent skilled visa so no restrictions to the employment and would love to secure a position for my husband before we leave UK (by the end of the year). We have tried a few (everyone will advise seek.com which we tried) and one agent said "I have never secured a position to anyone from oversees, we have enough Australians"...
We have also applied directly with some companies but no luck. My husband has a vast experience in the field but they all say they want Australian experience.
It might be a good idea to register with specific to the field agencies....
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

I'm with Hays, and I've had good luck through them. But that agent sounds right, with the market the way it is, I would be extremely surprised if you could secure a job before arriving, with no Australian experience, and with a start date 6 months away.

Because you really do need Australian experience for this type of work. The amount of red tape and rules mean even changing State will put you out of the loop.

There is no way you could manage a site/job/project without knowing the billion and one rules and regs.
