Age pension eligibility
Just wondering if someone could be eligible for the age pension (subject to all means tests and age requirements).
If someone has met the 10 year residency requirement at age 70, for instance, would they be eligible for the pension? Or, if age qualifying at 65 would they have to wait until aged 75? Regards |

Regards So if you qualify for aged pension at 65 you would be entitled to it as soon as you have completed the 10 year residency period. Aged 67 or whatever. You would not have to wait the 10 years until 75. A quick phonetical to Centrelink will confirm it. |
Re: Age pension eligibility
If they are of pension age then they can apply as soon as the 10 years are up. At the moment anyway but they are tightening things up.
