If we get the visa do we have to send our passports away to get them stamped or anything, otherwise how will we travel to Australia for validation?

10 days is the norm. Ours only took 7 days

We got ours back in what we thought was record time.Cos it was xmas we thought it'd be ages but we got our confirmation on 23rd dec,rushed straight up to the post office and sent it registered to the embassey that day, we got it back the following thursday!!! TOP MARKS chaps! I think theres a thing where you can monitor on the net when it arrives etc not sure where though and other halfs gone to work now so I cant ask him..

Hi! Ours was back within a week. I think they open the envelope, check the documentation (ie the copy of the grant letter), stick the visa sticker in the passports and put them straight in the SAE.

Does anyone know if you can travel to London in person to get visas validated rather than post? My daughter would like to visit London for what would be the first and last time before we go to Oz.

AHC London do not evidence visas in person, barring exceptional circumstances (eg urgent need to travel).

By the way - all they do is *stamp* the visas - you validate them when you make first entry to Australia, not before.
