Default Aerial views of your home town

Hi all
Was searching for info on the net for my home town when I came across this site. I grew up in a small village and found an aerial view of the street where i grew up. It is a good site and I believe they are adding more pictures all the time. It is a good one if you are homesick or would just like to see your home town from the air. Even does football stadiums. I have ordered my Dad a picture of Man.utd football ground. Does any one know a similar site for OZ? would be interested to see it.

For national coverage of the UK (webbaviation only covers North of England), try www.getmapping.co.uk, not sure if there's anything similar for Australia yet.

I don't think we've got anything like the "get mapping" here in Aus. I've tried looking for one in the past and couldn't come up with anything. This is what I've found for the QLD area.. one is a gov (natural resourses and mines) site, you can order and borrow aerial maps , the other two links are private companies (there are a few of these out there - it's what the real estate agents use) which probably will be expensive.

Probably your best bet is to ask in your city library.. maybe they have aerial maps or can point you in the right direction.

http://www.nrm.qld.gov.au/property/m...otography.html (it may be worth contacting these if you want one of Brisbane - here's another page from their site http://www.nrm.qld.gov.au/property/mapping/index.html click on the example )

P.S your link isn't working, try this
