advice on visa's please!
Hi
wondered if anyone can help. My hubby and i along with our 2 boys are thinking of applying for visa's. Hubby as enough points for a 136 skilled visa, can anyone throw some light on tohow long it roughly takes? does it make any difference as to when you apply and can anyone recomend any good visa companies, as neithher of us are any good with form filling.
Oh and does anyone have views as to whether oz is better than canada, as we are 8 mths into our visa application to canada but are having second thoughts as my sister is in perth and loving everyminute.
I can't make my mind up - typical female!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oops sorry to all other femal readers
cheers

We used 1stcontact.co.uk for migration agents, another good one is go matilda. If you get Australian News you will see loads of ads for reputable agents.
Australia hot - Canada cold.

Go Matilda's website is here: http://www.gomatilda.com
And I agree with manxfamily: Canada = cold, Australia = warm.
Obviously, I'm biased as we're off to Perth next year.

Try doing a search for migration agent on the forums - you will get loads of threads with peoples +ve and -ve on different agents.
We have been advised that a 136 non-MODL is currently taking approx 12-15 months from skills assessment to visa grant (this is for those working in IT) - but this time is likely to vary depending on which organisation is assessing your occupational skills.
I have to agree with manxfamily and GinaUK ... Canada cold, Australia warm!!!
(although i am not sure that the spiders are a good point :scared: )
