Advice on sending docs to Oz
Hi'a
We need to send some documents to our agents in Australia tomorrow and just wandered what was the best way to do it. Originally i thought I would send it special delivery but now thinking about it i guess that wont work in Australia. Should i be thinking of using a courier ?? Any advice will be greatfully received Ozzygirl :) |

Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
We couriered docs to Oz twice, using DHL each time. They are brilliant. You can track your package all the way through their website and get the name of the person who signs for it at the other end.
Look in the yellow pages under "couriers" and call them. Gina |
Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
DONT USE ROYAL FAIL !!!! They negate any responsibility once it has left UK SHORES
Use DHL !!! Royal Fail lost our tra docs, we contacted them having waited 5 weeks to see if it was slow system, they gave us a complaint form. This is extract from complaint form, you can get this from any P.O. I swear this is TRUE. " mail sent via royal mail, is not deemed lost until 30 days after posting. To make a valid compensatory claim, please do so within 30 days of posting " GO FIGURE !!! |
Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
Hi
Try www.interparcel.com We have used them twice and they are very efficient. They use DHL so items can be tracked on their website. We sent our Police checks last Friday and they were delivered Tuesday. Good luck AnitaB |
Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
Seriously - do not use royal mail. Many people have and Im sure many get their things delivered, but many have also had their med's lost, pcc''s lost which will add at least 4 weeks to your processing plus another XX$ to get the meds or pcc re-done .
DHL will hunt the earth to find your package , royal mail will send you an email saying ' after 4 weeks we will instigate an inquiry ' then you get the 'we lost it , we can't track it after it leaves england' letter. Its about 27quid with Interparcel via DHL to Aus - its well worth it. |
Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
By the third time I had used Parcel Farce I thought it about time to use someone better - and DHL were great.

Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
Thanks Guys
I have just been onto the Interparcel website and booked up with them. They are due to come round sometime today so our docs should reach Melbourne by early next week :D Thanks again Ozzygirl p.s i know what you mean about royal mail, we recently complained that our mail was going missing and all they did was send out a sorry letter with a book of stamps in it, but funnily enough we are now getting our post again :D |
Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
I don't adam and eve it
Booked Interparcel on the internet to pick up our documents to send to oz, they said they had availability for yesterday and kindly charged our debit card and sent us an e-mail invoice but then did not turn up. GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR  I have left a message on there answer phone and sent them an e-mail so hopefully they will pick our docs up on Tuesday. I suggested to hubby that we book flights to Oz for tomorrow and take it ourselves but he wouldn't have it :D it was worth a try though |
Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
I've been asked not to send via courier - so do I have any alternative other than Royal Mail ?

Re: Advice on sending docs to Oz
Its because a courier won't deliver to Glenn's PO Box address - if you send it by courier it will be held by the courier company, and Glenn will then have to arrange for it to be collected, adding time to the process.
As an alternative you can send your docs by courier to us in Melbourne, and we will then put them in an Express Post Platinum (a signed for on delivery service) bag, but that will add a day or two to the delivery process. Best regards.
