Advice Req on holiday to Gold Coast

Hello!

We have been granted our PR and need to go vist Australia (amazing feeling).

We are planning to stop over at friends in Sydney & Adelaide & then to the Gold Coast for some real touristy holiday - days. We know it is a touristy place but would like to do all the fun park stuff, maybe take a train trip....... help!

I have searched the net for Gold Coast - Information overload!!!

Any advice from travellers who have been? What was your experience.

Where did you stay??

Any do's & dont's?

Any help you could offer would be so appreciated, as wil any links to relevant websites.

Thanks you so much
Tazza

Bring plenty of cash, the theme parks can be expensive, expecially if you have a family in tow!

Hi
we have beento the gold coast twice and we first time stayed at Chevron Island (www.karanapalms.com.au) and the second time near surfers (www.sunsetisland.com.au).

You can catch a train from Nerang to Brisbane and theis is a bus link to Surfers. For shopping a trip to Pacific Fair is a must. We did all the usual stuff including the theme parks etc. Currumbin Santuray is worth a visit. So is a trip to the hinterland. The local bus service was really good and their are loads of tour companies many of them offering good deals.
