Default Advice on relocating

We've been in Oz for just over 4 years-living in far north Qld and want to settle further south, perhaps buy some land and build. Being so remote in the past we'd like to be close to a major town/city but understand the closer you get the more expensive it'll be. Quite fancy the Mornington peninsular or possibly the Geelong/Torquay areas. Can anyone recommend any semi rural areas in Victoria. Should be talking a budget of $700,000 before a mortgage and looking for around 4-5 acres ideally. Cheers!

3 acres

2.5 acres

19 acres (but a bit above budget, but a fantastic area

In and around the dandenongs there is often plenty of decent sized plots which are quite affordable, and all within an hour of the CBD, beaches etc.
Not everything is flat unfortunately, but it does allow for some amazing views.

10 acres with property etc?

Thanks for the reply! It does look like great area. I'm doing a "recce", in Easter so hopefully I can cover quite a bit of ground in 5 days!

Have a look on realestate.com around this area and towards berwick etc, and there are some beautiful areas, and all close enough to beaches, shopping, CBD etc, but just far enough away to give you plenty of bang for your buck.

Friends of ours live opposite this place : http://www.realestate.com.au/propert...lvan-107000063

fabulous views and a very nice quiet road to live on (unless i'm there with the kids on the dirt bikes )

Good luck!! We were in FNQ for 3 and half years, now in Mt Isa (don't ask!!) but looking to move down south to Gold Coast in couple of years, when eldest daughter finishes year 12.
