Advice re medical for Royal Australian Navy
Hi, My husband has applied to join the RAN and is currently wading his way through the application. We've hit a problem with the medical and are looking for some advice. He's ex RN having been out for 9 years now and is a member of the RN Reserves. Reserves advised they couldn't carry out the medical and advised him to attend his local GP. Local GP has stated he'll have to go private and this'll cost approx £800.00. As there's no guarantee at this stage re job we're a bit apprehensive about going ahead with this. Anybody got any advice?

Hi Hazel,
Can't help with your question re the doc side but just want to welcome you to BE. All the best with your application. I'm sure someone here will be able to give you some good advice. There's a search thread at the top - if you put in RAN or Navy you should get some info from there.
