Default Advice please re. work for ACCA/FCCA Accountants

My husband is an FCCA accountant and we are hopefully (if we are accepted) moving to Perth, Australia middle of next year. We would like to be in contact with other ACCA/FCCA accountants to learn from their experiences e.g. was the qualification accepted by employers and employment agencies? When is the best time to get in contact with the agencies? All sorts of things. If you can help please get in contact.

Many thanks
Theresa

You could start by getting in touch with ACCA Australia:

Hi

Thanks, we have been in contact with them but the info they gave us was a bit wishy washy so we want to speak to someone who has been there and done it. If you know of anyone we would really like to get in touch with them.

Thank you for getting back to me.

Regards
Theresa

Theresa

You were lucky then - when I contacted the ACCA in Australia I never even got a reply! From a fellow FCCA I found this of more use :-

Have our visa, heading out January 2005 - how about yourselves?

Dear Chris n

We applied in March 04, Mr Harrop our agent thinks we should be asked to go for our medicals within the next month. How long did it take you to get your visa from when you lodged your completed application? We are hoping to go over in June 05 if we can get the visa.

You can find my timeline below:-

Just out of interest, why have you used an agent if your husband is FCCA? I would have thought that yours, like ours, was a pretty clear cut case.
