Advice on NSW please
Could a few of you give me a little advice please. My husband was issued with his visa a couple of months ago and this means we have to come out to validate it. We have booked to fly into Sydney in August for nearly 3 weeks. We aren't city people and we have 2 children so good schools will be an issue.
Could anyone recommend any areas of NSW that will be warm (as we are used to Tenerife weather) also where the houses wont cost a fortune. Thanks Lynn |

Thanks Lynn We've just validated our visa and are hopefully moving over in a couple of months. I have two young children and the areas that we are looking at are Northern Beaches (if we can afford it!) but most likely to be the Hills district: Castle Hill, Glenhaven and suburbs around there. We drove around the Hills quite a bit on our validation trip and loved the area. I'm also researching the schools and these seem to be good in the area. Hills district is about 40km outside the CBD. My hubby will have to work in the City so we've really been focusing on suburbs that he would be prepared to commute from. Hope that helps. |

Thanks for that. My husband is a tiler/bathroom fitter so the work is where there are houses really so thankfully that means we don't need to be right inside the expensive towns.

Re: Advice on NSW please
If you dont want the city then look further afield, most areas in NSW are hot in summer but the futher inland you go the more extreme, very hot or very cold summer/winter. Canberra is a bit like this too. Heaps of towns that you could choose from. I live on Central Coast it is about 1-1.5 hours north of Sydney and some lovely areas here. bit further up in Wyongshire the housing is def cheaper but can have some rough areas so try and avoid those and this has only covered a very small portion of coastal NSW. (same anywhere really). Not so sure about South of Sydney but am sure further south would be the same.
