Advice needed please......
Little bit of my background - chartered accountant with several years of experience in PwC, hospitality and telecom industry in external auditing, internal auditing, internal control, risk management, fraud management, revenue assurance, consulting, product review, decision support etc in 3 countries in South Asia. Just completed CIA certification from IIA USA. Also completed advanced diploma in CIMA
My motivation of settling in Australia is for future of my kid (4year) plus long term prospect. Main reason I have not taken the plunge yet is due to the current job that is both lucrative plus satisfying. However with the PR that is soon coming to an end in a year or so, I am giving serious thought now. I do not expect same salary and position in Australia at least for few years - meaning that I am ready for a step down or two in my career.
Given the choice, I am interested in internal auditing career in Australia after few years of break from it.
Two options lay before me:
1. Take the plunge for good
2. Take a month leave from current job (no possibility for career break) and try jobs in OZ
@1st option - I wonder if not having job while looking for opportunities in OZ may affect both confidence level and negotiation power (if and only if invited for interview!)
@2nd option - ideal option as it is hell lot comfortable securing a job before giving up current job, but I doubt if 1 month is sufficient time for it, especially during the current economic climate and I may draw wrong conclusion from it.
What do you think? Appreciate any honest inputs, feed backs, thoughts
