hi, i moved to gc with 7 month old, just register in your local surgery and make sure you take your baby book (you know the one mine is red)so they can check which immunisations your little ones had, and just follow your surgery instructions...... they have slightly different immunisations than us but fine though

Register Asap with Medicare so you can get your temp cards and your medicare number. Life is so much easier when the medical services are bulk billed. Your GP will also inform Medicare of jabs so when your child hits a certain age you will get a payment from Centrelink. www.medicare.gov.au .

The other benefit you can get straight off the plane is FTB which is from Centrelink but you can lodge the forms at Medicare. Depending on your income you can get a fortnightly payment. www.familyassist.gov.au

In NSW there are early childhood health centres and other states probably have an equivalent. They can point you towards mothers groups, playgroups and other support services.
