Default advice on being self employed in construction industry (WA)

HI ALL
is there anyone moved to oz and become self employed in the construction industry
or do you have to work in direct employment first
i have my own small construction company uk
nothing major (fed up with winter weather stoping work can never find inside work then)
any advice will be much appreciated

Some trades, plumbing and electrical, you have to retrain for but general building i don't think so.

But moving to another market and starting from scratch well I'd think twice. Why not come over and work 12 months, find the lay of the land, check out suppliers and accounts. You may even build up a small customer base.

As you know word of mouth takes time to build up.
